DeNa's yoga journey began in 1997, when she explored the teachings Erich Schiffman. It was the practice of yoga that brought her deep peace and a calm mind but also tapped into hidden energy, and opened her heart. She attended Yoga Loka Teacher Training in Novato, Ca in 2002 with the MacCauley Family, teachers of Pattabhi Jois' Ashtanga Vinyasa. In 2006 she began training at the Mount Madonna Center under the tutelage of Baba Hari Dass. She Currently holds over 500hrs training. Her classes celebrate breath in asana with a lot of fun play! DeNa says, "Freedom in movement is limitless in the breath." When DeNa is not teaching, she spends her time running, cycling, hiking and snowball eating in the east bay hills her dog, "Kota-son."
Rod Ciocho

however, most classes will be taught in the Iyengar style which focuses on discovering proper alignment and balance in the body. We use yoga props such as blankets, blocks, bolsters, chairs, etc. in order to make poses comfortable and safe for all bodies. We wish to create health, endurance, agility and strength in the body. We believe creating this symmetry will reduce fatigue, soothe the nervous system and ease chronic pain. The various work done at our studio will stimulate your digestive, circulatory, respiratory and lymphatic systems.
